With the pace of society nowadays, it is sometimes hard to make health a number one priority.  However, with keeping a few tips in mind, it might help you to keep healthy!

Make sure that you take the time to acquire nutritious foods.  Overly processed foods are full of chemicals and our bodies needs essential vitamins and minerals.  These can be found in almost all fresh fruits and vegetables.  These foods are critical to optimal health.   Eating a balanced diet can also help to attain adequate nutrition that will fuel your body.  There are known superfoods, and knowing what these are and eating them can help you maintain your health.  Examples of superfoods known for their variety of nutrients are (berries, beans, apricots, broccoli, cinnamon, pomegranate, and avocado).  Remember you are what you eat!  Eating healthy food will actually make you feel better.

Daily exercise is critical for our bodies.  The recommended daily exercise amount is at least 30 minutes per day (with an elevated heart rate).  This means that although walking the stairs in the house is good, it may not be enough.  Getting into a routine (such as walking at noon hour) might help to make sure that you are getting at least 30 minutes per day.  Generally, the hormones released when exercising are the “feel good” hormones, and thus, not only will your body benefit physically, your mind will too!

Our bodies need to get sleep.  It is the one time in the day where our physical and mental body can relax.  For all the stress that we pile on our bodies daily, we need to make sure that we take the time to rest properly.  While resting, our bodies have the chance to repair tissues, and every time we cheat our bodies from sleep  we actually rob our bodies of regeneration.  In order to get a good night’s sleep make sure that you turn your electronics off!  (Laptops, TV, cell phones).

These are just a few tips to help keep you healthy.  Although quite simple, many people neglect these areas.  Try it for even just a week to find out if trying these tips can make you feel better!
