The 2012 Canadian Finals Rodeo Bring the Wild West to Edmonton

The Canadian Finals Rodeo is taking place between the seventh and eleventh of November in Edmonton. This is where the best cowboys, cowgirls and their animals exhibit their skills and compete for over one billion dollars in prize money. They have been competing all year, and now only the very best ones are left.
Canadian Finals Rodeo 2012 events
In order to be eligible for novice events cowboys must be between the ages of 16 and 21.
Bull riding - The most dangerous event. The cowboy mounts a bull and attempts to last at least 8 seconds.
Bareback riding - The cowboy rides the horse without a saddle.
Steer wrestling - The cowboy chases a steer while riding a horse. They must jump from the horse to the steer and wrestle it to the ground.
Bronc riding - Similar to the bull riding event except the cowboy mounts a bucking horse.
Barrel racing - The cowboy attempts to ride the horse in a clover-leaf pattern around the barrels aiming for the fastest time.
Team roping - The only team event in a rodeo in which two cowboys chase down a steer.
Calf roping or tie-down roping - Similar to the steer wrestling event except the cowboy must rope the calf.
